Summer 2024
Year 4 have been learning about the Tudors this term. We have studied the character of King Henry VIII and the stories of his six wives. We have also analysed his character. To bring the topic to life, Hares class re-enacted the famous Battle of Bosworth on our school field, where Henry Tudor led the Lancastrians (red rose) to victory over King Richard III’s Yorkist army (white rose) The Stanley army played a crucial part on the day too! Henry was crowned the new King (Henry VII). This ended the ‘Wars of the Roses’ and he became the first English monarch of the Tudor dynasty. The children have been writing recounts of this historic day.
