Autumn 1

In Art this half term, we were looking at our primary colours. We mixed primary colours together to make secondary colours and experimented with different shades of these colours.  

In English, we were looking at the book ‘Coming to England’ we were looking at different parts of the story and writing sentences about the story.  

In Geography, we have been exploring where we live in the UK and looking at the four different countries in the UK. 

In RE, we have been looking at the topic of Creation and Covenant. We have been looking at stories in the Bible and sharing prayers with one another.  

In Maths, we have been looking at greater than and less than. We used the concept of crocodiles to help us with our understanding.  

Autumn 2

In RE, we have been looking at the topic of ‘Prophecy and Promise’. We painted pictures of Mary and looked at how people viewed Mary from across the world.  

In DT, we have been designing and making puppets. We had so much fun deciding what colours we wanted our puppets to be and choosing how we were going to put our puppets together.   

In Maths, we have been exploring part-whole models and understanding the different fact families which make up a number. We have also been looking at how objects can represent numbers.  

In English, we have been looking at the story of ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman’ we wrote sentences about parts of the book ensuring we were using capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Some of us were even trying to put adjectives into our work!
