Benchmarking
Benchmarking is a process of measuring the performance of school's processes against those of other schools to identify opportunities for improvement.
All schools are provided annually with benchmarking data to enable them to compare their performance in assessments and in public examinations with schools in similar circumstances, in terms of enrolment bands and proportions of pupils with free school meals entitlement.
Benchmark assessments are assessments administered periodically throughout the school year at specified times to evaluate pupils' knowledge and skills relative to an explicit set of long term learning goals.
